Move from Outlook to GMX

All emails and folders come from Outlook into your GMX mailbox. Your Outlook mailbox stays unchanged, and we bring over new emails to the old address for 30 days.

Test for free

The test moves the emails of the last 30 days, up to 200 MB. You see right away that everything works.

What to set up first

About five minutes. After that you only enter your two addresses and passwords in the move wizard.

Nothing. In the wizard you click “Sign in with Microsoft” and enter your password only at Microsoft.

At GMX

Sign in to GMX in your browser.
In the email area, open “Settings” and then “POP3/IMAP”.
Allow access via IMAP and save. In the wizard you then enter your normal GMX password.

What happens to your folders

Inbox, Sent, Drafts and Trash land in the matching folder at GMX, whatever it is called there. Your own folders keep their names and subfolders. Read, flagged and answered marks are kept.

We only include Trash and Spam if you want. Before the start you can deselect individual folders.

How long does the move take?

Usually a few minutes to a few hours, depending on the size of the mailbox. You don’t need to stay: we email you once everything is there.

Contacts and calendars

We can’t bring contacts and calendars along automatically at Outlook. After the move we show you step by step how to export and import them yourself.
